Field Notes
Field Notes is a reading-first publication: no autoplay, no interstitials, and a measure that stays comfortable from phone to desktop.

The problem
The previous site buried the writing under widgets. Readers bounced before the first paragraph finished loading.
What I built
A static Astro site fed by Sanity, with a type scale tuned for long sessions, image treatments that respect slow connections, and an archive that stays browsable years in.
Outcome
Pages ship as mostly HTML, load fast on weak networks, and average read time roughly doubled after launch.
